Look Around You

Posted on Jan 22, 2011 by in Watching this

Ok, this one is for the expats, and/or purveyors of wit that prefer their humor extra dry.  ‘Look Around You’, is a brilliant parody of those public/government sponsored educational videos we all had to sit through in 4th form physics.  Incredibly funny.

Start with this one:

Produced by the BBC, this was a series that ran in the UK for several seasons in the early-mid 2000s. They have been purposely produced to respect the era, and are brilliantly faithful to the late 70’s early 80’s.  As part of the same show they would do “special reports” in a faux journalistic style – like this one on Computer Games:

Other faves are (links to YouTube):
LAY. Special Report The Petticoat V computer
LAY. Special Report Synthesizer Patel
Look Around You – Germs
Look Around You – Iron

Or, just head to YouTube, search, and be prepared to waste a lot of time 🙂
Also available on Netflix (the first season).
